David Alexander Largent passed away Saturday morning, October 31, at 3:10 o'clock at his home in East Lampasas. He had been in failing health for some time but had been confined to his bed for only a week prior to his death. Mr. Largent was born August 13, 1855, at Sacramento, Calif., and at the age of two years moved with his family to Texas and they first lived at Clarksville and then in Dallas County and Coryell county. He was married January 5, 1893 in Coryell County to Miss Margaret Harvey and they had made Lampasas their home for about 40 years. He worked as a rock mason practically all of the time until a few years ago when he was injured by an automobile and was never able to again follow the trade. Besides his widow, he is survived by the following children: Harvey Largent of South Gate, Calif., Alex Largent of Abilene, Claud Largent of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs J. F. Elder of Lampasas, Mrs. W. T. Bullion of Lampasas and Mrs. J. P. Stephenson Jr. of Brownwood. He also leaves three sisters and a brother: Mrs. D. C. Hurst of Comanche, Mrs. Martha Johnson of Stephenville, Mrs. John Autrey of Vanoos, Okla. and Houston Largent of Sherman. The deceased had been a member of the local Baptist Church for many years and funeral services were conducted at the family home Sunday afternoon at 2 :00 o'clock by Rev. R. H. Mathison. Interment followed in the Union cemetery near Gatesville.
