Clerk Records, Deed Book 8 page 191 "This indenture made this 25th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four between Levin C. Kirkman and Mary Kirkman his wife of the county of Monroe in the State of Ohio, of the first, and David Ruckman of the county of Marshall in the state of Virginia of the second part; Witnesseth, that the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred + twenty five dollars in hand, paid by the party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, having granted, bargained, sold, [remised?], released, aliened and confirmed; and by these presents, do grant, bargain, sell, remise, release, alien and confirm unto the said party of the second part; and to his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land situated on Lynn Camp in Marshall County VA being the same land patented to Aaron Young + supposed to contain one hundred acres, bounded as follows. Begining at a sugar tree Strick line, thence with said line S. 32 W 302. to a poplar, thence S. 72 E 80 P. to a locust, thence N. 32 E. 197 P. to an oak, thence N. 64 W.78 P. to the begining. together with all the appertinances thereof, and all the estate, right title and interest whatsoever, of the said parties of the first part, either in law or Equity, of, in and to the above bargained premises, with their appertenances. To have and to hold the said premises above described, to the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, to the sole and only proper use, beefit and behalf of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. and the same will forever Warrant and Defend unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, against all and everyu person or persons whomever, lawfully claiming or pretending to claim, the whole or any part thereof by from or under the said Levin C. kirkman or his heirs or assigns only. In witness whereof, the parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
