Family Search Tree, Life Sketch
Book "Forerunners, Genealogy of the Strickler Families" by Harry M. Strickler of Harrisonburg, Va. David and brother Joseph lived on and owned farm now(1925) know as Harper Rice farm near New Market. My father David was born April 10th, 1771 and died March 30th, 1815, not quite 45 years of age. After grandmother's death, grandfather went to Pennsylvania and married a Miss Moomaw who was the mother of Daniel Strickler, (known as Col. Daniel Strickler). He I think was born April 10th, 1777 and died May 24, 1845. I think that he had one or two sisters but I cannot recollect it with certainty. (by Adam Strickler)
From VERLA source: The fourth child, and fourth son, was David. He married Elizabeth Grove--Verla's great, great grandparents. David was killed at age forty three in 1815 when his horse fell. David and Elizabeth Strickler had ten children:
