About David Watts

David Watts was a lawyer, born in Cumberland county, Pennsylvania, 29 October, 1764; died in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, 25 September, 1819, was graduated at Dickinson college in 1787, read law in Philadelphia under William Lewis, and was admitted to the bar, in October, 1790. For a long period he was the leader at the bar in the interior of Pennsylvania, and his practice extended over two thirds of the state. He was an impassioned, forcible, and fluent speaker.
