1839: DAVID MURRAY YOUNG was born 21 Apr 1839 near Trenton in Gibson Co Tennessee, the youngest child of Squire & Lucinda Boren Young. Tragically, David's father died later that same year while on a trip back to Illinois. DM as he was called, was a Confederate veteran of the war between the states. His official discharge, dated 13 Oct 1865 at San Antonio, listed his residence as Bexar County Texas. He married Mary Adeline Johnson 31 Dec 1865 in Atascosa Co Texas and they had 14 children. He died 28 Sep 1906 in Lytle, Atascosa Co Texas and was buried in the Lytle Community Cemetery (informationobtained from a granddaughter, Mabel Young Hamblin).

In 1861 he was a member of the 22d Regiment Texas Cavalry, which was organized 16 Jan 1862, and re-organized 30 Jun 1862, with ten companies, A to K.
