Davis Crocket Brewer

His widow Mary Jane nee Couch was 15 on their wedding date.
After his death, she had a daughter 6 December 1865 so Davis must have passed away before 1865.
Davis Crocket Brewer's will was written 13 Jan 1864 and probate was on 12 Apr 1869

Davis Crockett Brewer enlisted in the Confederate Army March 4, 1862, with the First and Fourth Consolidated Missouri Infantry.
He was wounded with a mini ball in the chest, losing the right lung and several ribs, in the Battle of Champion Hill, MS on May 16, 1863.
He was captured at this time and spent the rest of the war in a Union hospital.
The last of his military records were recorded November 4, 1865.
He returned home bringing the mini ball with which he was shot and his removed ribs.
