Deborah Mead (b. c1727), daughter of Elnathan Mead, granddaughter of Samuel Mead, great granddaughter of John Mead, second great granddaughter of immigrant William Mead.
Asserted to have married Samuel Close (July 31, 1724 - 1770). He was the son of Benjamin Close and Eunice Husted and died in Greenwich, Fairfield County, Connecticut Colony. Deborah refused the provisions for her in Samuel's will and opted for her 1/3 dower, as set on Sept. 2, 1771 from an inventory taken on Mar. 15, 1771. His death date is ascertained by his will, dated Oct. 24, 1770, and probated Dec. 19, 1770.
Children asserted to be:
- 1. Samuel Close (Nov. 7, 1750 - July 5, 1777) died in the Revolutionary War.
- 2. Elnathan Close (Mar. 12, 1753 - c1812) died in Pine Hollow, New York, married firstly Mary Moe (1768 - bef. 1789) and secondly Margaret or Peggy Wood on Feb. 24, 1789.
- 3. Hannah Close (Mar. 14, 1756 - Nov. 5, 1824)
- 4. Deborah Close (July 6, 1758 - aft. 1844)
- 5. Benjamin Close (Sept. 10, 1760 - Oct. 11, 1836)
- 6. Henry Mead Close (b. June 29, 1763), married Eliza Hobby (b. c1765) on Oct. 24, 1811 in Greenwich.
