Disputed Origins

Seen as daughter of Thomas Wilson and Anne Sherman for which there is no documentation of any kind. Nowhere in known records is Deborah's maiden name recorded, and absent newly found primary source documentation, parents should not be attached to this profile.

Family

Robert Booth, parents unknown, was born in England about 1602 and died 22 Mar 1672/1673 in Saco, York County, Maine. He married 1) unknown 2) Deborah before 1650. She survived him and married Thomas Ladbook 2nd.

Cutter states (absent documentation) that the Booths, Deborah being his second wife, moved to Saco (now Maine) in 1653 and gives no maiden name for Deborah. NEHGR gives the first appearance of the Booths in Saco vital records as 1653.

Probably his first 3 or 4 children were by his 1st wife.

3. Simeon ~ Booth was born 10 May 1641 in Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, and died 28 Feb 1703 in Enfield, Hartford County, Connecticut. Married 1) Rebecca Frost 2) Elizabeth Garrett.
4. Martha Booth was born 12 Apr 1645 in Saco, York County, Maine. Married John Leighton.

Ladbrook, Thomas,Portsm. cordwainer, m. 1st bef. 13 July 1671, when she was 54, Mary, wid. of John Barrett(1). His 2d w., contract 21 Feb. 1681-2, was Deborah, wid. of Robert Booth(3), her 3d marriage. He was fined for selling beer to soldiers, and Henry Kirke complained to the Pres. and Council that his ch., an appren. of Mr. Ladbrook's for 6 yrs., had recd. neither adequate food nor instruction. Bot of Rachel Webster 7 July 1676 a ho. and contents at the waterside near the meeting-ho. Freed from training 1676. Lists 92, 327b, 329, 331ab. Adm. bond dated 29 Sept. 1684, but d. bef. 27 Sept. 1683 when the wid., very ancient and with difficulty coming to court, petn. for her own prop., kept from her contrary to agreement. No kn. ch.4
