About Deborah Owen
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Williams-23375
Deborah Williams' birth date and parentage are uncertain, but most plausibly she was the daughter of Benajah Williams and Deborah (Parke) Williams and was born about 1739-40.
Deborah Williams married John Owen in Salisbury, Connecticut on March 4, 1762.[1] Deborah and John had the following children in Salisbury:
- Althea, b. October 17, 1762[2]
- Asenath, b. July 12, 1764[2]
- Chloe, b. August 12, 1766[2]
- Elizabeth, b. August 6, 1768[2][5]
In 1771, John Owen moved to Poultney, Vermont.[2] Ralph Dornfeld Owen, in “Descendants of John Owen of Windsor, Connecticut (1622-1699)”, says that John may have had two wives, so it is possible that Deborah did not survive to move to Poultney. John (and possibly Deborah) may have had six more children in Poultney:[9]
- Isaac, b. 1770-1774
- Ethan, b. 1775-1780
- Luther, b. 1782
- Lucy (twin), b. 1785
- Louisa (twin), b. 1785
- Cynthia[2]
Given that Deborah would probably have been 45-46 at the time of the births of the later children in Poultney, it is perhaps unlikely that she was the mother.
In 1789, John Owen moved further north to Milton, Vermont.[2] Again, it is unknown if Deborah survived to accompany him.
Deborah Owen's date of death is unknown. Depending on when she died, she may have died in Salisbury, Connecticut or Poultney or Milton, Vermont.[2]
