William Wallace Sutton wrote, in letters in 1997, that Delphia had no middle name.
"Delphia was so special to me when I was a little girl. She reminded me, in character, of Grandfather Joseph Sethas Eagle, she was always busy but never too involved to take time to give a kid a hug or a warm greeting. I remember going to her home and I can still bring to mind the smell of a room, at this location and time, that was an apple storage area. This home had a spring where you went to get the water. This cool shaded area, at the spring, had lots of rocks and trees in the vacinity. There was a huge tree in the other direction, from this home, that had a tire swing. As far as I can remember the son who let me tag-a-long after him to bring the water this visit must have been Victor. I especially remember Aunt Delphia's laugh. I am a person who has a very acute sixth sense. I have, for years, been able to hear a person's voice and tell if they are in a negative mood (whether it be from sadness, ill health, sorrow, etc.). I also feel the goodness in other people and Aunt Delphia was one that made me feel very warm (a sense of that goodness). I, of course, as a child did not realize that that sensation had any other meaning other than I really liked her. I want to let those reading this know how I loved this dear woman.
The name of the grade school, in Clay Co., WV., that Delphia Eagle, Darcie Ray Eagle, and some of their siblings attended attended was "Morning Sun School." In 2002 Ella ‘Duke' (Walker) May had a picture of this school made in 1924-1925. Darcie Ray Eagle & Delphia Eagle are in the picture. Uncle John Orville Eagle told me on December 8, 2002 that this school was located near where the Darcie Eagle Family had lived on the Elk River at Duck, Clay Co., WV. This would also mean the school was close to the Eagle Farm , at Snake Creek, Duck, Clay Co., WV.
