He was a 1969 Poudre High School graduate where he was a three-time letterman for both basketball and football. Denny worked as a Supervisor for Kodak in Windsor for 29 years. Denny is most remembered for his ""jokester"" personality, his story-telling, his infectious laugh and his love for all things outdoors, especially fishing. Denny had a heart of gold and truly loved all those in his life and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his father William and mother Patsy. He is survived by his five children, Amber Archuleta, Katie DePorter, Mike Ackelson, Mitch Ackelson and Ty Ackelson, five grandchildren, his three brothers, Bob Ackelson, Marty Ackelson and Gary Ackelson and many nieces/nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held 3 pm Friday, August 8, 2014 at the South Bay Pavilion (next to the swim beach) at Horestooth Reservoir. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Friends of Retired Greyhounds in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S. Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
