SPINAL Meningitis Fatal to Student.
Denton Savage Riter, son of William D Riter, former Salt Lake Attorney died January l of spinal meningitis at Washington, D.C. according to word received by relatives and friends here. He was a grandson of W.W. Riter, who for many years was president of the Desert Savings Bank. Mr. Riter was taken ill Christmas Day. His mother, Mrs. Lennie Savage Riter passed though Salt Lake on New Year's day en route to her son's bedside. He was a member of the University of Pennsylvania electrical engineering class of 1929, and of Sigma Chi fraternity. The family left Utah in 1922 when William D Riter was appointed assistant United States attorney general, an office from which he later withdrew to enter into law practice in Washington. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Firestone who is now on the seas on her way to Burma and Miss Helen Riter of Los Angeles.
