The Quincy Daily Whig, Friday, July 07, 1916; Page: 12 DERWOOD RUTLEDGE DIES AT PALOMA Suffered Stroke While on the Wilson Farm at Work Wednesday Evening. Derwood Rutledge, 920 Monroe street died Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the home of relatives at Paloma, as the res-It of a stroke of cerebral hemorrhage, he suffered Wednesday morning. Mr. Rutledge had been in poor health for the last several years and had spent the last few months in the country with relatives and doing odd jobs at farm work. He was previously employed at the Gardner Governor works in this city. Wednesday morning, he was doing some plowing on the Wilson farm and had been work but a short time when he was found unconscious in the field. He was 45 years old and was born at Columbus, June 18, 1871. Besides a widow he leaves his aged mother and the following sisters and brother: Mrs. R. E. McNeall and Mrs. C. B. Cannon of this city; Mrs. Clarence Allen, of Coatsburg: Mrs. Roy Fisher, Creede Colo.; Mrs. Perry Patterson, of Wahpeton, N. D., and Frank Rutledge, of Camp Point. The funeral will take place from the home at 920 Monroe street Sunday afternoon. Burial in Greenmount cemetery
