DeVor JOHNSTON of Etna Green, son of Ralph and Thelma JOHNSTON, formerly of Rochester, died Friday in Kosciusko Community Hospital at Warsaw. Arrengements are pending at the Bourbon Mortuary.

Monday, October 22, 1984

DeVor L. JOHNSTON, 56, Rt. 1, Etna Green, died at 6:49 a.m. Friday in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He had been in failing health the past few months.

He was born Nov. 15, 1927 in Kewanna to Ralph and Thelma REED JOHNSTON, who survive. He had lived in Etna Green the past seven years. He was married Nov. 30, 1977 to Beverly WITHAM RIEWOLD, who survives. He was a retired salesman for the MacAllister Co., Indianapolis. A 1945 Kewana High School graduate, he served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He was a member of the Plymouth American Legion and the Moose Lodge, and was president of the Etna Green Town Board from 1980-83.

Surviving with the wife are the parents of Rochester and Gla\endale, Ariz.; two sons, Kimm [JOHNSTON], at home, and Gary [JOHNSTON], Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio; a daughter, Terri KELLER, Panellas Park, Fla.; a step-daughter, Melissa RIEWOLD, Texas City, Texas; four step-sons, Matthew RIEWOLD, Etna Green; Chad RIEWOLD, Bremen, Jon RIEWOLD, Indianapolis, and Patrick RIEWOLD, Kokomo; seven grandchildren; a sister, Sharyn HILAND, and a brother, Howard [JOHNSTON], both of Glendale, Ariz.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Deaton Funeral Home in Bourbon with the Rev. James PRICE officiating. Burial will be in the Etna Green Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today, and on Tuesday until time of services. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Plymouth American Legion. Memorials may be made to the Emphysema or Lupe foundations.
