Diane Glezman

Diane E. Glezman, 71, of Petoskey, passed away on Feb. 2, 2012, surrounded by her children.

Diane was born Feb. 11, 1940, the daughter of Edward and Dorothy Walpole in Ferndale. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Ferndale in 1958 and attended North Central Michigan College where she received an associate degree.

She married Richard Glezman Sept. 23, 1967. Together they owned and operated Tydee Diaper Service, Northern Scale Company and a garden shop.

Diane enjoyed working and volunteering at the Women's Resource Center. She also worked for the juvenile court system. In 1981, the family moved and continued to reside in Petoskey.

Diane was a loving mother and caring friend. She loved to spend time with family. She loved playing with her cat Babe. She enjoyed painting, doing crossword puzzles, cooking and spending time with her many friends at Riverview Terrace.

Diane is survived by one daughter, Bonnie (John) Straight of Mancelona; four sons, Terry (Sherri) Glezman of Traverse City, Michael (Tabatha) Glezman of Bitely, Christopher Glezman of Traverse City, and Daniel Glezman of Petoskey (currently serving in Afghanistan); daughter-in-law, Renee Glezman of Fife Lake; 16 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Dorothy Walpole; husband, Richard Glezman; sons, Richard (Rick) Glezman and Jonathan Glezman; grandson, Richard (Ricky) Glezman; and her brother, Bruce Walpole.

A celebration of life will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Trinity Missionary Church, 219 State St., in Petoskey, with pastor Stephen Beigle officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.
