Donald Bohr
REDFIELD — Donald Joseph Bohr, 68, of Redfield died Saturday, Oct. 19, 1991, in Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls.
Mr. Bohr was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Lennox, Iowa. He served on the Navy from 1945 to 1947.
He married Mary Lusk on Jan. 20, 1946. They farmed near Howard until 1962, and then moved to Wessington where he owned and operated a bank until 1972. He also worked in banks in Big Timber, Mont.; Evanston, Wyo.; Mitchell; Kanaranzi, Minn.; and Hoven.
He was a state agricultural counselor of FmHA until he retired and moved to Redfield in 1988. He and his wife served as volunteer park hosts for Roy Lake State Park.
Survivors include his wife; two sons: Dennis of Wagner; and Steve of Holdrege, Neb.; four daughters: Mrs. Ken (Mary Lou) McGirr of Wessington; Mrs. Jeff (Jean) Larson of Huron; Lori Nicholas of Denver; and Mrs. John (Lesa) Huntsinger of Sioux Falls; 17 grandchildren; four brothers: Paul of Fairfiled, Calif.; LeRoy of Waterville, Wash.; Fred of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and Ray of Howard; and one sister, Mrs. DeWayne (Pat) Clarke of Madison.
Mass was Tuesday in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Redfield. He was buried in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Wessington.
Coleman-Thelen Funeral Home, Redfield, was in charge of arrangements.
