About Donald Horace Carter
Don Horace Carter left this life peacefully on September 26, 1999, of kidney failure. Don was born on October 11, 1925, in Minersville, Utah to Horace Lightner and Maggie Francis Carter. Don married Juanita Rowe Carter on April 28, 1951. Together they raised six adoring children. Don spent many years working in the grocery business and later went to work for the State of Utah/Agricultural Market News, from which he retired. We hope that he will always be remembered for his sense of humor and for his beautiful yard and gardens.
Don is survived by his children, Don "Joe" (Rosie) Carter, Richey (Char) Carter, Gail (Paul) Jones, Donnie (Dave) Jordan, Leona (Jack) Kirk and Beckie (Bob) Carter. He is also survived by nine siblings: Dwight (Virginia) Carter, Betty Decker, Vaudis Richey, Nellie Long, Wildon (Anne) Carter, Ned Carter, Ted (Dorothy) Carter, Ray (Karen) Carter and Joy (Bob) Granger. He leaves 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his loving wife Juanita, both parents, a brother Elmer, brother Ellis, and grandson Anthony.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the Hemodialysis Unit at the Veteran's Hospital, and to Aging Services for their continued care and support.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, 12 noon, at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park
A journey begins not with the first step but with the desire to go where you have never gone.
