Donald George (Graham) Fletcher

Don was very secretive about his past and we have no idea why. I only found out his birth name when he died this year. He was married to my mum for 17 years.

Don came into our lives in 1997, he met and married my mother Joan within 6 months. He would have been diagnosed with ADHD if they had that 70 years ago, he found it very difficult to sit for too long. Apparently, his mother died when he was 11 and he ran away from home at age 14. Lived on the streets, making a living from cleaning cars. Their are rumors that he fathered a daughter in his 20's and apparently they left him.(Don't know) He was reported to have lived with Rosey Fletcher of Moe for many years, no children, Rosey died of cancer and he kept the name Fletcher. In his 50's he married Nancy ( ) from Bairnsdale, no children, until she died of cancer in 1997.

He reportedly spoke with Noelene in her later years, but she wasn't interested in knowing him.

Don was a very likable person, his latest friends were his best friends. unfortunately he was also a financial nightmare, he would move allot to avoid debt.. . Mum fortunately is very attached to her four children and would not move once she got back to Warragul. In Don's final year, he mellowed from the grumpy old so and so who feuded with the neighbors to an adoring great grand father.
