Obituary – Intelligencer, November 5, 1998 Donald C. Jacobs of Willow Grove died Monday, June 7, 1999 at his home. He was 72. He was the husband of Bonny Jacobs. The couple had been married for 50 years. Born in Hammonton, N.J. on January 21, 1927. Mr. Jacobs graduated from Peirce College in Philadelphia in 1948 with a degree in business. Mr. Jacobs was President and CEO of the InterCounty Savings and Loan Association in Chestnut Hill for 20 years, having retired in 1992. He also served as CEO of the Mahwah Savings Association in Mahwah, N.J. He served on the Legislative Committer of the U.S. League and Pennsylvania League for 12 years. Mr. Jacobs served on both Philadelphia City Committees, both Democratic and Republican, as representative of the Savings and Loan Industry. For the past 30 years, Mr. Jacobs was an avid fan of the University of Delaware Football team. He was a season ticket holder ad traveled with the team to many away games. He was a two term of the Hatboro Jaycees, worked with the volunteer rescue squad and volunteered his time at the YMCA. Surviving along with his wife are his daughters, Mrs. Jill Biden of Wilmington, Del., Mrs. Bonny Glenn of Landenberg, Pa., Mrs. Jan Hartman of Ocean City, N.J., Mrs. Kim Snow of Concordville, Pa. and Miss Kelly Jacobs of Willow Grove; his sister, Mrs. Barbara Hopkins of Bluffington, S.C.; his aunt, Elizabeth Williamson of Hammonton, N.J.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services Friday June 11, 1999 at 11 a.m. from Abington Presbyterian Church, Old York Road, Abington. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to University of Pennsylvania Cancer Center, 15th Floor Penn Tower, 3400 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19104.
