His sister, Catherine, was present and madeher mark X on the registration. He wasthe seventh of eight children of Donald MacRae (b. November 28, 1825)and Kirsty MacIver (b. 1829). After marrying Isabella MacLeod (b. 1876), the couple moved to 14 New Street, Back. Isabella was the sisterof Murdo MacLeod (b. 1863) who married Donalds sister, Mary MacRae(November 18, 1861). Interestingly, this kind of double marriage occurred again with another two of Donalds siblings, when Murdo MacRae (b. 1855) and Ann MacRae (b. March 16, 1857) married Mary Beaton (b. 1856) and Norman Beaton.
