The death' is announced of Captain Donald Hugh McKenzie, at his residence, Woodside, Manurewa, at the age of 66 years. The deceased captain was an old resident of Auckland, and was very prominent in the maritime and mercantile business of the port in past years, having been owner and master of a number of sailing vessels in the coastal and inter colonial trade. Some years ago he retired from the sea, and commenced a ship chandlery business in Auckland, afterwards returning to sea life again. He finally retired from the sea a few years ago, and started farming at Manurewa, and had been in failing health for the past year. He leaves a widow and grown-up family of sons and daughters to mourn his loss. The interment takes place at Mangere tomorrow afternoon.
