Donald Frederick Raine 1931-2011
Donald Frederick Raine passed away Oct. 16, 2011 at Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, Calif. He was born in Malvern, Iowa Dec. 28, 1931 to parents Rheba and Charles Raine. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janice; his daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Matt Burkhart and their three children, Gordon, Douglas, and Margaret; and granddaughter, Kristen Packard daughter of deceased son Brian. He is also survived by his brother, Gene Raine, and sister, Patricia Clark. Don’s family moved to California in 1942 to work for the war effort. He went to Vigil Junior High School and Downey High School and some college. He retired from his own business in 1998 and moved to Big Pine in 2000. Don loved his family, friends, golf and sports in general. He will be greatly missed.
