SHELLEY, Sept. 2 - Dora Hymas Johnson, 79, Shelley, Bingham resident 62 years, widow of Hans Andrew Johnson died Wednesday in an Idaho Falls hospital where she had been confined for several years.
She was born Nov. 27, 1885, in Liberty, Idaho, daughter of William Alfred and Saloma Luanna Hammond Hymas.
She was married to Andrew Hans Johnson Oct. 22, 1902, in the Logan LDS Temple. Her husband died in June 1950.
The Johnson's moved to Basalt in 1903 where they farmed until they moved to Shelley in 1942.
Mrs. Johnson was active in the LDS Church, having been MIA president, Relief Society visiting teacher, and Primary and Sunday school teacher.
She served as an LDS Temple worker in Idaho Falls and in Mesa, Ariz., until ill heath prevented her working.
Two sons and two daughters survive, Clive Johnson, Salt Lake City; Reed Johnson, Twin Falls; Mrs. Wallace (Fae) Johnson, Shelley; and Mrs. Charles (Maida) Roos, Idaho Falls. Five children preceded her in death.
Twenty-one grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Shelley 2nd Ward, with Bishop Arvil Millar officiating.
The family will meet friends Friday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday morning at the Nalder Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Basalt Cemetery under the direction of the Nalder Funeral Home.
