Doreece L. Byers, 83, passed away on June 18, 2009 at Life Care Center of Reno in Reno, NV. Daughter of Mary Millicent and "Cap" Platt, she was born in Barstow, CA. She became a Naval wife, traveling from California to the Orient and back, finally settling in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada after the passing of her husband, James.

Doreece is survived by her her children, Barbara Ann, William Douglas, and James Dennis; her grand- children and great grand- children. Celebrations of life to be held by family members at various times on Sunday across the West.
