About Doreen Rose Vincent
Bought a brick for the building of Guildford Cathedral 2shillings and 6d. Was a war bride. Went from a comfortable life in Runfold where her father and grandfather owned and ran a petrol station and her grandfather owned and ran a tile works and sand pits, to an exceeding tough life in Mercoal, Alberta (now a ghost town, but then a part of the coal branch). As a child hours were spent in the sandpits creating 'oven's and 'cooking' and such games. Remembers her grandfather being followed up the ladders by his faithful little dog.
