Margaret Willis, 38, widow of a prominent business man of Los Angeles, who confessed, according to police, that she killed her physician, Dr. Benjamin Baldwin, 40, had stuffed his body in a wardrobe trunk and after keeping a day's vigil over it in her apartment, had driven to a remote canyon where she hurled it over a cliff April 12.

Beecher, or 'Doc', graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha in 1906. He held medical licenses in Nebraska in 1906, Iowa in 1911 and California in 1921. Beecher married (at least) four (4) times, but left just one son, Ronald Good Baldwin.
Beecher was murdered in Los Angeles in 1924 and his demise and 'colorful' life was front page news for several weeks.
