Dr. E.W. Bachman, one of the leading physicians of northwest Iowa died at Rochester, MN early morning of May 29, 1924. He had gone there to be with his wife, who had been there for ten days taking treatment at the Mayo Hospital. The doctor was not there for treatment, but for company with Mrs. Bachman. We have no particulars of his death but it was probably caused from heart failure. The prior few years he had trouble with his heart and, at times, compelled to remain at home for several days. He had practiced medicine for the past twenty-five years in Estherville, coming from West Ben. At that time he was state senator representing the district. Besides the wife, two daughters, Mrs. Alizanah Ladd of Minneapolis and Mrs. Ruth Stockdale of Estherville were left to mourn his death.
