Dr John Edward Simpson was the son of a doctor in Belfast. Born in 1875. He had 5 sisters.
He sent a letter home a few days before the sinking and today a mysterious purchaser of the letter has ensured that it returns to it's home, Belfast.
Dr Simpson is an ancestor of Mark Simpson newscaster on the BBC.
