Jan 1, 1910 by the 155th Regimental Assoc. "Dr. Thomas Dickson, one of the three brothers, eminent surgeons of that name, practicing in Pittsburg, and all of whom left their home patients, in the first battles of the war, contracted typhoid fever while serving with the United States Christian Commission in the camps of McClellan's army besieging Richmond, and fell a martyr to that disease. His two brothers, Doctors John and Joseph Dickson, were serving with him at the time, and continued to respond with their personal attendance and services to calls for volunteer surgeons on every great battlefield of the Army of the Potomac until the end of the war."
