Duncan Morrison who lived in Aldborough Township from 1843 to 1868. His wife Margaret (Peggy) Leitch, youngest daughter of Archie Leitch, died between 1857 and 1860, at age 41. I have not been able to find where she was buried there. In 1867, their daughter Margaret (Margie) died. I would also like to know where she is buried. Robert and son Duncan and son-in law Duncan Somerville came together from Scotland in March, 1843,on the Lady Margaret to Quebec, then went on toward Aldborough Township in the General Brock.I have a record of Duncan Morrison on a ship to Elgin County with Duncan Sommerville, whose wife Cathrine was Duncan Morrison's sister. (Their father, Robert Morrison and his wife Jean Crawford came with them. They were eventually buried in the Purcell Cemetery). Robert is mentioned in passing in a news article about Duncan Sommerville, dated 1896, from the St ThomasTimes Journal. I would like to learn the location of the farms of Duncan, Robert, and William Morrison. (William was Duncan's younger brother, who remained in Aldborough).Duncan's family history mentions that they were near Wardsville, (in Middlesex Mosa), but their land was in Aldborough. Would they have been original settlers? Were they part of the Talbot Settlement? If anyone has the passenger list of the Lady Margaret, I'd like to see it. Maybe even more of the family came over. My own grandfather, Robert Morrison, was 6 weeks of age when they sailed for Canada. In 1868, Duncan and his 9 remaining children came to Kalkaska County, Michigan, along with his son-in law, Neil Munro, who was married to Duncan's daughter Jean. Munro settled in the next county.
