Earl "Pete" Hawkins, 73, of Brooksville, Florida, died last Thursday in Hernanda Valley Hospital, Florida, following a six-month illness.

A retired Carrollton coal dealer, he was a native of Jefferson County and had resided in Florida the past 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia; one sister, Mrs. Edward Brooks of Rt. 3, Carrollton, and three brothers, Harry of Brooksville and Raymond and John Hawkins, both of Rt. 1, Hopedale. One sister preceded him in death. Services were held Monday in the Sweeney Funeral home here with Rev. Raymond Swinehart officiating. Interment was in Westview Cemetery at Carrollton.
