EBENEZER WHITE ARMS was the third son of Ebenezer and Mary (White) Arms, and was born in Greenfield, Mass., March 29, 1805. After graduating, (Yale Class of 1828) he studied law in the office of Hon. James H. Woods, Geneva, N. Y., where he was admitted to the bar, and continued until the fall of 1833, when he removed to Aurora, N. Y., and entered into a co-partnership with his classmate, Christopher Morgan, which was terminated by the removal of the latter to Auburn in 1841. He remained in Aurora till his death, January 15, 1877. He was universally honored for his pure and upright life. He was a chief contributor to the erection of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Aurora, which was named from him the Aurora Memorial Church. He was married November 12, 1835, to Lydia, daughter of Hon. Daniel Avery, of Aurora, who survived him. They had no children.
