About Ebenezer Kendall

Ebenezer8 Kendall, (Jacob,2 Francis1) b. April 5, 1710; d. Dec. 20, 1774; m. to Hannah , who d. Feb 10, 1761; resided in Dunstable, Mass., where he was the earliest tavern keeper in town. His house stood near the present central cemetery, and in his home was held the first recorded town meeting of Dunstable, and until the meeting house was built the town meetings were held in his tavern. He was one of the committee to build the meeting house in 1753, and was a signer of the original church covenant. He was called Ensign Kendall.

After his death, the old tavern was a rendezvous for rallying during the Revolution. Among the children of Ebenezer and Hannah Kendall were five sons, viz.: Asa Kendall, b. in 1735, kept the tavern after his father's death, and was called Sergeant Kendall; Ebenezer Kendall, b. in 1736; William Kendall, b. Oct. 9, 1750; Hezekiah Kendall, b. in 1753, and Abraham Kendall, b. in 1756.
