Edith H. Fretz‚ 89‚ of Telford‚ and a former‚ longtime resident of Hatfield‚ died Wednesday‚ Aug. 4‚ 2004 at the Lutheran Community at Telford. She was preceded in death by her husband‚ Wilson M. Fretz‚ in 1991.

Born in Lower Salford Twp.‚ she was a daughter of the late Harry and Katie (Heckler) Borneman.

She had been employed in various area hosiery mills.

Mrs. Fretz was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Telford‚ where she formerly taught Sunday school.

She volunteered at the Dock Community in Towamencin. She was very fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was survived by a daughter‚ Betty Jane Lauman and her husband‚ Elmer‚ of Hatfield; a son‚ Charles Fretz of Punta Gorda‚ FL; two brothers‚ Preston Borneman of Harleysville and Russell Borneman of Lansdale; and 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband‚ she was preceded in death by two sons‚ Stewart Fretz‚ in 1997 and Ronald Fretz‚ in 1959; a great-grandson in 1990; five brothers‚ Jacob Borneman‚ Abram Borneman‚ Henry Borneman‚ Wilmer Borneman and Homer Borneman; and two sisters‚ Mary Kathryn Ruth and Alice Hackman.
