Edith Bland was born 1798 in Duplin County, North Carolina, daughter of James and Jemima (Alderman) Bland. She became known as "Edy or Eady".
She married John Fryar. They became the parents of 3 daughters born into their family, Sarah (around 1835), Rachel (around 1837) and Margaret (around 1841) Fryer.
June 9, 1860, the Fryar family, including John, age 66, Eady, age 62, Sarah, age 25, Rachel, age 23, and Margaret, age 19, was living in the Taylors Bridge community, Sampson County, North Carolina. John's occupation was farmer.
In 1880, Edith (Bland) Fryar, age 82, died.
