Edith Ada Bland was born on March 5, 1829 in Emanuel County (a), Georgia

On February 13, 1845, she married Batt Gay. The children born into their Gay family are Benjamin Lane, Saphronia Gay (circa 1847), Ivey Divigor Gay (circa 1849), Susan J., Nora L., Batt, Jr. and Laura F. (1859) Gay.

On September 25, 1906, Edith Ada Bland, age 77, died in Jenkins County with burial in the Gay Family Cemetery, Four Points, Jenkins County, Georgia.
