About Edith Sensenig

Edith E. Sensenig, 83, of 154 West Maple Grove Road, Denver, PA, went home peacefully with her Lord on Tuesday morning, Nov. 4, 2008, at Lancaster General Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Titus L. Sensenig. They would have celebrated 65 years of marriage on November 6.

Born in Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Ferree and Elizabeth (Weaver) Esbenshade. She was a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church and formerly of Weaverland Mennonite Church.

Edith was a homemaker but had also worked in food processing at the former Victor F. Weaver and also at Spring Glen Foods.

She enjoyed flowers, embroidery and spending time with her grand- and great-grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Ruth Ann, married to Marvin King of Narvon, Mary E. Weaver of Lititz, Eugene L., married to Thelma (Smoker) Sensenig of Denver, and Erma J., married to Ronald Weaver of Reinholds; a daughter-in-law, Mary J. (Martin) Sensenig, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Adam, married to Alta Esbenshade, and Ferree, Jr., married to Marian Esbenshade, both of New Holland.

She was preceded in death by a son, Floyd R. Sensenig, a grandson, Dean Weaver, and a sister, Grace Reiff, widow of Amos.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. at Martindale Mennonite Church, with Bishop Earl Sensenig, George Weber and Eugene Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the church and also on Friday from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Kindly omit flowers.
