Edith Shepard

Edith Edie (Dimeo) Shepard, 102, of Bridgewater died on September 14, 2015, at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria (Sabatino) Dimeo and the loving wife of 56 years to the late Henry E. Shepard. Edie was born in Camden, N.J., and then moved to Johnston, R.I., before moving to the Scotland area of Bridgewater in 1920 at the age of 7. She attended Dyer School on Pleasant St. and Bridgewater Academy. She was a resident of Bridgewater Senior Housing on Hemlock Drive for the last 30 years. Edie loved gardening, crocheting, making her homemade pasta, meatballs and sauce which she shared with friends. She enjoyed line dancing at the Senior Centers in West Bridgewater, Bridgewater, and Middleboro. Edie was very giving, generous and always there for her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Joan Denton of Raynham and Henry Butch Shepard and his wife Marilyn of Bridgewater. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Edie was predeceased by her siblings, Joe Dimeo, Alfonse Dimeo, Alfred Dimeo, Jenny Rosa, Katherine Ghelfi, Anne Starr, and Louise Holick. Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater.
