Edmund Lincoln, son of Edmund and Elizabeth (Payson) Baylies, was born at Boston, Massachusetts, May 18, 1829, died at Geneva, Switzerland, November 28, 1869.
He was graduated from Harvard University with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in 1850. He lived during his early life in Boston and Taunton, Massachusetts, and after his marriage made his home in New York City.
He married, November 27, 1856, Nathalie, daughter of Robert Ray, of the New York family of that name, which has given a number of distinguished men in public and commercial life to the city and state.
