About Edna Ruth Perritt
Edna was a God-fearing, wonderful, compassionate person. She would do anything in the world for you, if she felt you deserved it. However, if you ever got on the wrong side of her, that was it. She held a grudge forever. This trait was passed onto her son and her grandson (Charles) but not quite as bad. Although she wasn't happy about me becoming her daughter-in-law because of religion, she got over it and we became very close. No one could ever take the place of my mother but Mom (as I called her) almost did. I will always remember that at Dad's viewing she patted his hand and said "Walk slow Roland".
Her family was her life and she loved us all dearly. She was the matriarch of the family and enjoyed the role immensely. She loved doing the holiday dinners and, almost every year, forgot to take the sweet potatoes out of the oven. If anything went the least bit wrong, she would cry and she wasn't the crying type. Another thing - do NOT be late for dinner. No excuses. I am so glad she was there to meet Anne (along with her other grandmother) when she got to heaven. (By Terry Perritt)
