UNION -- .Friends of Edson S. Boyer may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home & Crematory, Elkhart, Ind., where the service will be at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Carl Henry with Northside Baptist Church will officiate, followed by burial at Adamsville Cemetery, Cass County, Mich. Mr. Boyer, 89, of 69430 Baldwin Prairie, died at 7: 10 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2002) at Eastlake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart. He was born Dec. l5, l912, to Palmer and Alta Maude (Stutsman) Boyer in Edwardsburg, Mich. and married Ruth L. Detwiler in Wabash, Ind., on Feb. 11, 1937. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Alvin (Arlene) and Edward (Marilyn), both of Union, Mich.; two daughters, Deborah Durinski of Davie, Fla., and Beatrice Howie of Union, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A sister and brother are deceased. Mr. Boyer was a retired farmer and former owner of Boyers Inc. in Union, which he operated for more than 26 years.
