About Eduard Franz Hieronimus Wolf Ronneberg

Note: The correct order of Christian names is as follows: "Franz Eduard Hieronymus Wolf". Eduard is the name, which was used in daily life to call him. In this profile, the name Eduard is distinguished by displaying it in the first position of the headline, although its correct position is the 2 nd one. This makeshift seems to be the only reasonable way to show all Christian names as well as to distinguish the name of daily life, when using the available GENi-software.

Military man

Eduard Ronneberg was a captain of the reserve of the German army ("Oberleutnant der Landwehr außer Dienst", decorated by the "Preußische Landwehrdienstauszeichnung" of second class).

The dairy in Ellerbek near Kiel

He became the owner of a dairy in Ellerbek near Kiel (Ziegelstraße 12). It is probable that one of the numerous morgages on Gut Insel was needed to buy the dairy. Today, Ellerbek in fact is a suburb of Kiel, which (at least at that time) was dominated by workers (working on shipyards, etc.). According to the family tradition, the dairy was wellknown for its baby nutrition.

It is told that the (in their big majority social democratic orientated) customers requested Eduard to give up his military position as an officer of the reserve, if he were interested in them to remain his customers. Since Eduard refused to follow this pressure, his customers boycotted the dairy. The milk which was still delivered every day but could not be sold any longer, ended in the gullies. By this, the dairy became insolvent.

Sales representative

After this desaster, Eduard Ronneberg became a sales representative (general agent) of Alfa Laval, a Swedish deliverer of dairy equipment.

Story of the Ronneberg tradition:

According to Jürgen Klahn I, his mother Sophie (*1882) told that her father Eduard was supposed to marry a Delius. However, Eduard refused and jokingly said: I do not want to spoil my tribe ("Ich möchte mir meine Sippe nicht verderben").
