Ed D. Brooks, 62, of Pembroke died last night about...Thompson hospital, where he was carried Tuesday when he became ill.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. from Bear Swamp Baptist church, with burial in the St. Annah Church cemetery. Rev. L. W. Jacobs will conduct the service and will be assisted by Rev. Z. R. Chavis.

Surviving are 2 sons, Percy Brooks of Lumberton, R. 4 and Worth Brooks of Fairmont, R. 3; 5 daughters, Mrs. Hubert Hunt of Fairmont, R. 3, Mrs. James E. Chavis and Mrs. Bontford Cummings of Pembroke, R. 1, Mrs. Joseph Jacobs of Pembroke, and Mrs. Lawrence Locklear of McColl, S.C., R.3; 34 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Joseph Brooks of Washington, D.C., Peter of Pembroke, R. 1, Johnny and Andrew Brooks of Pembroke, Joe Brooks of Fairmont, R. 3; 3 sisters, Mrs. Henry Oxendine of Lumberton, R. 4, Mrs. Gordon Dial of Pembroke, R. 1 and Mrs. Shaw Deese of Maxton, R. 3.
