1. Rev. Rufus Emery, Genealogical Records of Descendants of John and Anthony Emery of Newbury, Mass. 1590 - 1890, The (1890, Salem Publishing and Printing Co. The Salem Press, 1891), pg. 27-8. "son of James and Ruth (Watson) Emery; married Mrs. EUnice McKie, nee Smith, widow of Capt. McKiee and daughter of RObert SMith of London, ENgland. She was born in Queen's Square , London, between 1724and 7130. Captain McKie brought his wife EUnice and two sons to Salem, Mass. He was afterwards lost at sea with his vessel. It is said that RObert Smith belonged to the nobility of England. He as very wealthy and left a large fortune to his heirs. Edward Emery was a farmer andlived in Fairfield, Me., where he settled in 1771. He died in Fairfield, Me. His wife died in Vassalboro, Me. Children listed: Robert S., Eunice, Daived, Edward and Priscilaa."
