Several other remarkable personages were buried in the choir, but none of their monuments are now to be found. . . . 1696 -- November 9, the William packet boat, coming from Holyhead with 80 passengers, among whom was Brigadier Fitzpatrick and several other officers, was, by a violent storm, cast away near Sutton, in Dublin bay ; all persons, except the master and a boy, were lost ; the body of Brigadier Fitzpatrick was found upon the shore, which being brought to Dublin, was, on the 19th, honorably interred in the choir. . . . he was elder brother of Richard, first Lord Gowran, the son of which latter was created Earl of Upper Ossory.
