About Edward Joseph Foley
Clinton, June 3 - Edward Joseph Foley, 61, owner and operator of the E.J. Foley grocery store in Clinton, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday in John Warner hospital after an extended illness.
Mr. Foley, a veteran of World War I, was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Pythias lodge.
He was born March 13, 1896 in Springfield, the son of Patrick and Mary Murray Foley.
He married Bernice Gowdy on Sept. 18, 1920 in Clinton.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Edward E., of Decatur, and Jack L., of Normal; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Lower, of San Bernardino, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Koehl and Mrs. C.W. Neeld, both of Springfield.
Funeral services were in Herington funeral home.
Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery, Clinton.
