Edward H. Kinard

Edward H. Kinard, 83, died Thursday, May 19, 2005, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Kathleen A. (Sterner) Kinard and the companion of Pauline E. Wood. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2005, at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A viewing will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Full Military Honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Kinard was born October 20, 1921, in York. He was the son of the late Lester M. and Sara Ann (Bailey) Kinard. He was employed with Epstein Builders as a Painter for 25 years until his retirement in 1979. He was United States Navy Veteran of World War II. A life member of V.F.W. Post 556, he was also a member of Pleasureville American Legion Post 799, Donkey Club and Prince Club. Mr. Kinard is survived by one daughter, Mary Ellen Heiland of York; 10 grandchildren; 15 Greatgrandchildren; 14 great-greatgrandchildren; three brothers, Lester L., Kenneth C. and Gerald L. Kinard, all of York; seven sisters, Loretta K. Crane of Seven Valleys, Lorraine M. Stabley of York, Louise L. Fair of Shrewsbury, Lois J. Hoffman of Glen Rock, Lucretia A. Klinedinst of York, Janice E. Sinclair of Jacobus, and Evelyn P. Hengst of Red Lion; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Miriam L. Reed; three brothers; and one sister. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 2997 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion, PA 17356.
