Children:
Sarah Ellen Lynch Brown 1862–1949
William Pierce Lynch 1864–1923

Edward Lynch was married to Miss Catherine McClure on December 8, 1861, and nine children, six daughters and three sons were the results of their union. One son and one daughter have passed before their Father, and the other children with the exception of Mrs. Sarah Brown and Mrs. Bates, who are in Fairview, Oklahoma, live in this vicinity. He moved to this community in 1873 and was extensively and favorably known in this part of the state. He was a successful farmer and stockman, trustworthy in business and a good husband, father and neighbor. He had been in poor health for some years. Mr. Lynch united with the Methodist Episcopal church at the age of 23 years.

Funeral services were held at his home Monday afternoon, Rev. Semans conducting the services and remains were interred in the Delphos Cemetery.

Again, the third time this family tie is broken, And our loved one taken away, Jesus has thrown the door open And taken our darling away. Home is not home, for father is not there, Angels have taken him out of our care. Dark is his room, and empty his chair, He has gone to Heaven, so peaceful and fair. Dearest Father, thou hast left us, Left this world of pain and care, And we know that thou art happy In that bright home over there. Dearest wife, sons and daughters, Oh, weep for him no more. But just prepare to meet him On that happy golden shore. The one we love so well is sleeping In the cold and alien tomb. He has crossed death's chilly river, But he did not fear the gloom. Dear friends get ready to meet him; Our lives are passing away; But the life that's to come lasts forever- May we all meet on that great day.
