243 Stapleton Rd, Bristol.
It's now a very busy road, classified by our Home Secretary as one of the 5 most violent and crime ridden roads in the whole of the UK!
Long time ago this was a very prosperous suburb, separated from the main city of Bristol by green fields and market gardens; now it is genuinely inner-city with a very diverse population. The house is being redecorated, and it looks as if it is now made up of separate flats.
The area was also home to a number of coal mines (most of which closed about a century ago).
Oliver Cromwell would have passed along this road in coming in to the city to receive its surrender back in the 17th century.
