Information comes from Lois P Passey in the History of Bear Lake Pioneers. Edward McKay Pugmire was born in Salt Lake City, Utah Oct 20, 1861, the son of Jonathan Pugmire Jr. and Elizabeth McKay. He married Luanna Adaline Booth who was born in Grantsville Utah, Oct 26, 1862,the daughter of Mosiah Booth and Mary Adaline Allred. They came to Bear Lake as children in 1864 and lived their entire lives here. They married 17 Nov 1886 in the Logan LDS Temple and spent endless time, talent and energy in the development of the valley. They were always active in civic affairs, in church work and all manner of public and private service. Edward served in the Logan Temple for one year as a scribe and record keeper. In 1893 he was called to Great Britain to fill a mission which lasted 2 1/2 years. His call to the California Mission came in 1902. In 1907 he was appointed to act as bishop of the St Charles Ward until 1914. Adaline Pugmire had a superb talent for writing, painting and music. She was ward organist for forty years. In the political field his service began as an advisor in the writing of Idaho's constitution. He was elected as representative from Bear Lake to the 1897 session of the legislature and was followed by five terms in the senate.
